Beasts and creatures of the gods that were made of metal.

Within our mythology there are tales of creatures with what is described as bodies of metal, gods with metal creatures that have the ability to ride over land, sea and air. Gods and figures of history made out of metal. Today these tales are looked upon as merely metaphors that our ancestors used in order to try and describe a purely spiritual experience involving ethereal, mystical beings. Lets take a step back and consider what if that outlook is incorrect?

Why would our ancestors have used something so rigid as the vision of metal to describe something that was fundamentally metaphysical or of flesh. Why use the visualisation of things that are silver and shiny to describe something that is taught today as light and airy? Is it possible that the idea of the metaphor is wrong, and our ancestors were trying to describe something that was in fact rigid and physical? Let’s have a look at some of those stories not so prominent in the collective consciousness today.

“Al” from Armenian lore, a half human half animal creature that especially likes to attack pregnant women. The al may have originated in the Babylonian lore of the ala, a malevolent spirit in the form of a black dog that causes diseases. The Al has one fiery red eye, iron teeth, brass fingernails, the tusks of a wild boar, and long, snakelike hair. The al likes to live in damp and dirty places, including homes and stables. It also frequents wet and sandy places along roads. The al and the light being within is alleged to attack pregnant women and their unborn children and pulls out their livers. It is known by report to cause miscarriages and steals newborn infants up to 7 months old.

“Ala” Turkish term, borrowed by Serbs and Greeks, for an also known as an Eclipse vampire. The ala replaced the names of varcolac and vukodlak as the sky creature who eats the sun and the moon. Ala assume human form and drink boiled milk, wine and vodka like water. They bring storms and fire that ruin crops as it flies over.
There’s a Serbian folktale of peasant who lost all his money because an Ala had ruined his vineyard, who then went and got some advice on how to kill it. He waited under his pear tree with a shotgun full of lead, silver, gold and steel which pierces the metal skin. The peasant replants the vineyard, and when the Ala then takes to the sky darkens spewing thunder, lightning and hail.
The Ala when it passes over it is said to be in the form of a metal eagle.

Baital

This is the description from a report of an encounter with a baital in India:

It’s eyes were wide open, greenish brown and never twinkled, it’s hair too was brown, and it’s face three different shades of brown. It’s body was thin and ribbed like a skeleton or bamboo framework, and as it held onto a bough, like a flying fox, by the toe tips, it’s muscle stood out as if they were ropes of coir. It had no blood, and it’s skin felt icy cold and clammy like a snakes. The only sign of life was the whisking of a ragged tail spewing smoke.
It’s skin is “iron-ike” and impervious to blows, like the sound of a blacksmith striking an anvil.

Huli-jing

The Huli jing from China can transport people through the air in its metal body and enable people to move through walls and closed windows. It is said to be invisible by day, but can be seen at night lurking on rooftops. Its inner figure can shapeshift can take on the form of dead people and haunt buildings, it’s also said to sexually assault people in the form of a dead person and leave them pale and ill. It is written that the Huji-jing takes the child from expectant mothers.

Loup-garou

It’s not the loup-garous themselves that caught our attention, but rather the ‘aircraft sized’ giant metallic bats. The Loup garou are themselves described as being half human/half wolf beings and they used their aircraft sized metal bats to travel vast distances over France and visit peoples houses in the night.

Nuckelavee
From Scotland, this creature is described as being a skinless metallic amphibian centaur. It has a piglike nose that snorts steam, and it’s breath causes crops it comes into contact with to wither and animals to die. It has one single bloodshot eye and a horses torso (considering our ancestors their only point of reference to something which carried people at speed is a horse. So they are in effect describing something that is carrying people.) which is several feet wide and around 4 feet tall. It’s know to travel by land, sea and air. Sounds like a people transporter much?

Are all these reports metaphorical allegories meant only to be interpreted as stories that have been dreamt up to teach children about the world around them? Or is it more likely that what our ancestors were doing was attempting to describe what they saw using the limits of language available to them at the time. There’s certainly a lot of coincidental similarities of these metal beasts across continents if they are merely stories.

If it’s the latter, however, then what were they trying to describe? If we look at these reports now through modern eyes, something that can cause a person to travel through solid objects as well as being capable of carrying that person over long distances, stories such as Poseidons’ 6 winged gold horse. Odins great flying reindeer Sleipnir that can carry many people which is a grey in colour and has 8 legs.

Jonah and the big fish where he is “swallowed” for 3 days and he can see through its eyes, has metal cold skin and of course God/Yahweh speaks to him inside, even having dinner with Yahweh. These come across as more of a type of vehicle. Similarly with giant bats, no creature exists that could withstand the weight of any humanoid being and still have the ability to glide, never mind fly, as the weight would overcome the airlift. So what could the term ‘aircraft sized bat’ be trying to describe? A type of aircraft with wings that resembled the arched, pointed shape of a bats wings seems more likely.

Similarly, a single fiery eyed ‘creature’ with iron teeth, brass fingernails, tusks, snakelike hair and the ability to become invisible using bells on it’s head is not just surprisingly specific, it seems more akin to a mechanical controlled vessel than a living creature – as are it’s actions when you consider it’s fondness for removing livers and fetuses.

Let us not forget the giant metal Talos with oil for blood that patrolled a remote island on the island of Crete, shooting down ships that got too close with it’s fire eye and threw rocks at passing ships. A archaeological point of statement that Crete is the only Greek island not to have sea defences, having a giant iron tireless tool of the gods, who patrolled the beaches of the island, they didn’t need the defences.

So are these things simply impossible creatures dreamt up by the imaginations of our ancestors? Certainly not when you have a look close at some of the reports. Our ancestors went as far as to say, not only of their encounters, but how to avoid them and importantly wrote it down! Over time, these stories that were so part of life, were forgotten to veil of myth.

But maybe you have a different opinion? Please share them in the comments below.

Finding resource references across the ages of strange vampires encounters, which echo UFO abduction reports.

Have found somes reports of what is termed a Ludverc from Hungary /Romanian lore. Which is usually bunched with the accounts of vampire mythology. However if viewed from a modern perspective could mean something quite different, when reviewing the accounts. Take a look at these examples

Where a ball of decending light, sometimes being described as a shaft of burning light from the sky. A being of light enters the house. Soon after the females becomes pregnant.

Similar reports of the phenomena, the being of light takes on the form of a dead spouse, deceased member of the community or those thought missing.

Report on an elder woman who sheds her skin to reveal a being of light, who causes people to pass out, one reference shows that blood was being taken from the “victim” and they woke during the procedure.

Children being born and didn’t look like a person, indeed looked like “the devils” who came at night. Children being taken from their beds at night.

Women who were pregnant suddenly despite being heavy, wake up in the woods not longer with baby, no mention of blood.

A report of a man, who woke up to find a strange short being cutting his kidney 0ut, but was unable to move.

A curious report of vampires from Mexico, Between July 1977 to Nov 1978. Over 40 reports of the same phenomena occurrence of people getting hit by red beams of light that burned their chests directed by what and I quote “Looked like a man in a diving suit carrying a pistol”. Blood tests conducted on the victims revealed abnormally low levels of hemoglobin. The chest area struck by the red light deteriorated over time.

In my opinion, these don’t sound much like vampire reports.  They read like modern day what is termed “alien abduction phenomena.”

Have a few articles in the works which are…

…ones that require some background research and structure going into them.

“Bringing the paranormal, down to ground level”  The intention is to explore areas of the unexplained and bring some rationale to them.

Extraordinary claims require extraodrinary evidence words spoken by Carl Sagan. Is quite simply the most honest and firm statement that we explorers of the unexplained, should hold as our beacon up to.

“What were our ancestors describing?”

We look at the accounts of our ancestors, from the recent past to the anicent ages where our forefathers wrote some incredible accounts of strange beasts, flying cities, beings with fantastical powers. Looking at the reports that are “off the beaten” track, of the usual examples.

Are paranormal investigators their own worst enemy?

To their credit a number of groups and organizations have a sense of professional understanding, in their approach and the ethical stance they have in dealing with people, their residences and businesses’ with respect. Its a common topic with other researchers and investigators involved in areas of the unexplained, that most of the other groups are doing it badly. No wonder theres very little communication, is it a belief that no-one else is doing the right thing, so “we” should just continue doing “our” own thing. We are in the process of setting up some interviews with investigation teams for a informal chat about their views of the paranormal landscape.

Reflections of inspiration

Growing up, most influences come from the family and the people we interact with, friends, teachers, neighbours and those we see on the television. The late great Carl Sagan was an indirect inspiration. That is I kept hearing his words growing up, without realising who he was. As I came through into adolescence every boy dreams of going into space, I would read books, scan the newspapers for space and technology news to the bemusement of many others at school. While also paying increasing attention to books of archaeology. National Geographic, Readers Digest, Osbourne books and the like.

One particular book called Mystic Places Mysteries of the unknown published by Readers Digest in 1988 which my mother brought stands out in my memory. stonehenge_strasserMust have read that book a thousand times. Vivid images of the mysteries of Stonehenge, Mary Celeste, the flying Dutchman, close encounters – indeed a picture was an artists impression of a silver-suited humanoid figure with large eyes looking through the car window at a terrified elderly couple haunted me for years, Mystic Places was my first encounter with what is known as the Ancient Alien theory. Including a detailed graphic of the sarcophagus lid from Palenque in central America, which took many years to excavate the earth which filled a single staircase going into the pyramid. The lid depicts what appears to be a figure, sat inside of a flying apparatus, his hands and feet manipulating instruments and complete with fiery exhaust.

At primary school where I attended Highlees Primary in Peterborough, in Year 4 (I was 8-9) my teacher was a wonderful middle-aged well spoken woman called Mrs Green and the adjacent classroom run by Mrs Jewitt would get together on a Friday afternoon. Bringing together the students and tell us a mystery and allow active discussion with the students. Stories such as the Bermuda celesteTriangle, Mary Celeste, the U.S.S. Aldridge, Life on other planets and what it would be like, the pyramids of the Giza plateau. I am ever grateful for this time, can be certain that in todays education allows not room for critical thinking and open discussion of topics considered fringe – despite their place in the psyche, embedded into history and their yearning to be talked about.

As a child, prior to the discovery of books, the first source of an unusual encounter was from my mother, she would tell me of a vivid spectral visit she would experience regularly when she was around 12. My mother is the eldest of 4 children of Madge and Stanley Lander. My grandfather Stanley was in the forces as a young man, a chauffeur and driver to top brass. With the family growing up, he resigned during the late 60s. They moved to Turves, a village of only 16 houses of the time either side of a B road leading out of Peterborough towards Cambridge. They had made a swap with one of my Granddads friends in the Army, whose father was seeking a move. As his wife had recently passed away and the house too big, but perfect for Madge, Stanley and the 4 children. An ideal swap. Without going into a lot of detail. My mother would tell me, that during the night her door would open and being a light sleeper she would wake up to ask who it was, thinking it was her mother. This happened frequently. She also began to notice jewellery would disappear from her jewellery box on the mirrored dresser. One particular night, she woke up to find an elderly lady sitting on the bed. Mum said the lady said, “Don’t worry, I’m just doing the cleaning, just having a rest”. Mum described her vividly, was very keen to state she was as real as anyone else, and had touched her. She wore her grey hair in a bun, a polar jumper, a pinafore apron and a pair of checked slippers with fluffy pompoms on them. Upon telling the family in the morning, she was laughed at and no one believed her. It was noticed a handprint was left on the mirror of the dresser. Jewellery box open, and a number of jewellery were missing a St Christopher necklace, a mother of pearl necklace and a charm bracelet.  No-ones hand matched up to the print and no-one would own up to the jewellery. r5024_y

Stanleys friends father Albert Palmer, whom the house was owned by previously would come over for Sunday dinner every week. The topic came up at the dinner table. When asked to describe the elderly lady, the friend was unanimous that it was a perfect description of his late wife. The following weekend, Albert came over again – bringing with him something quite unexpected. In Mrs Palmer Jewellery box, it was discovered to be the missing items from my mothers jewellery box. Whether the visits were the result of an over active imagination of a 12 year old girl, a dream which the brothers, her mum and dad had neatly labelled the encounters under. Jewellery somehow was transported from a house in Whittlesey to a residence in Grantham, which is around 30 miles away.

Suitably programmed to be looking into the curious from a young age. However the story of the spectral elderly lady was a huge impression, it’s not necessarily in the way you may imagine. My first question once I had heard the story when around 6, was regarding the jewellery. “How did the jewellery leave the “house?” My mind as immature as it was at the time devoid of the greater wide view of the world, was looking at the solid object and considering how it passes through the walls of a house. In my mind, I was seeing the image of the jewellery passing through the walls and across the landscape. Was it teleported? The handprint on the mirror, how and why did a ghost leave something well… physical.

It is the questions of the hows and whys does it happen, that are the most interesting. Which these are questions that run through my mind, when someone tells of an occurrence. Take for an example of the 8 common phenomena of a phantom hitchhiker. Why would an apparition appear at the side of a road? Then there’s the physical impression they have, they physically interact with the door, the car light when the door is open is “on” the person this means the photons were being reflected off something physical,  how did they have mass as they sat down in the car, have a “solid” appearance, then a short way down the road they disappear from the seat.

Often I’m asked “How do i become a investigator?”, “What do I have to do to become a researcher?” of which the answer is, build your knowledge base. How can one give structured sound advice, if one does not know the information surrounding the questions being asked.

vlcsnap-00003

In the last couple of years, we’ve somewhat stepped away from active investigations. But have become more an observer and trying to gain insight into the actions of alleged investigators. For instance, why are they using “x” piece of equipment? What data do they hope to gather? Of the data gathered during an investigation whether, video, audio, photographic, device data and recorded information how is this analysed? Is it available for review by external professionals? What are the groups intentions for the recorded data. Why is where we are today with Projects like Project WIRGOOT aiming to survey how groups conduct investigations, and what is done with the information gathered.

Giving presentations and talks around the county. Focusing as well on other aspects of the unexplained, rather than just ghosts, because there is more to the paranormal than just ghostbusting.

NASAs Prof Yeoman of JPL talks and debunks with science the misconceptions of the “End of the world” prophecies of 2012.

We make an effort not to just to blog what has been posted elsewhere. Comes from a pet hate of picking up ghost account books and books on the paranormal and its all that same reports regurgitated by swapping some words around with little to nothing added often citing the sources (if any) as a compendium volume of another book, which did the same.

However we feel this brilliant video and we hope you watch and agreed published by NASAs Jet Propulsion Laboratory on the topics of the claims of 2012 is certainly worthy of viewing.  Addressing the claims of alleged planetary alignments, Mayan calendar, Nibiru, pole shifts and others.

Spirit photography

As many who seek the answer to perhaps what is the most thought about question in all of human history – “Is there anything beyond our physical life?” It is also the question that drives us to look in wonder at all the multiple ideas and theories out there in the world, and we want so much to believe there is. Our minds, our thoughts, our experiences, we don’t want to believe they will be lost forever. When logic and reason comes into play we are confronted by a wall and a clear answer of no, there is no afterlife, no continuation of the consciousness, you will die, and that is that.

There are glimmers which shine out like beacons to those seeking to cling to idea that life may indeed continue in some form. One of these is the idea of ghosts and spirits, which indeed some of been caught in front of the camera many stand up to reason that they are not forgeries and done in a way to manipulate others. They just simply are. And what has been taken in front of the camera, was in front of the camera.

Spirit photography has been around for over a century the technique of recording manifestations was developed in the mid 1800s. William Hudson who lived in the United States. Who began to build a photographic record of working with mediums in séance using flash photography, which proved ultimately destructive at the séances with mediums suffering terribly from the likes of heart attacks. (Allegedly due to bodies substance being given in order to create ectoplasm, but that’s another story) to quote Fred Gettings author of a number of occult book publications

“Images of complete materializations of spirits, of partial manifestations and related phenomena are certainly more frequently obtained than is generally realized.” Genuine mediumship, beset as always by extensive fraudulent practice, resulted in highly sophisticated techniques which were the subject of intense scientific investigation. Perhaps the most famous of the 19th century spirits to be photographed in a materialized form was “Katie King” who had manifested through the mediumship or renowned Florence Cook, who was studied by Sir William Cookes, under laboratory conditions. The materialization of Katie King was photographed with Sir William Cooke. Who wrote in his conclusions: “Photography was inadequate to depict the perfect beauty of Katie’s face, as words are powerless to describe the charm of her manner…”

Spirit photography was done using Radiograph (which is similar to how an x-ray is performed and results in a similar style of image) Skotograph (a single shot piece of film that is in a sealed package to prevent tampering or fraudulent alterations. This concept was proposed and devised by Felicia Scatcherd, of Society for Psychical Research).

Another form of spirit photography is Kirlian photography, It refers to a form of photograph achieved with a high voltage current. It is named after Semyon Kirlian, who in 1939 accidentally discovered that if an object on a photographic plate is connected to a source of high voltage created by the strong electric it gives a corona like effect, around objects and even people! In recent times this form has been redubbed “Aura photography”. Of which there is research of how different colours of said “aura” do indeed change dependant on mood of the respondent. I was present when a Kirlian photograph was taken of a pregnant woman (Festival of Fire – University of Nottingham March 09). The photo appears to have a shaft of light seemingly coming from where the foetus is developing in the womb. I took a photo on my camera of said Aura photograph,

Polaroid instant print cameras, have been around a while and are popular amongst paranormal researchers and photographers offering proof that the image wasn’t tampered with. High quality digital cameras come reasonably cheap at varying resolutions, images are quickly stored to an internal memory or externally removable card, ported to a PC and printed out, in the comfort of your own home. Whilst that is great, its open to the skeptic and debunker to say whatever you caught on camera wasn’t caught on the camera but instead took a trip into the realms of paint shop pro and photoshop – and was added (however a quick look at the metafile of said digital image will tell you exactly where its been).

One of the most famous photographs of an alleged ghost is the ‘Brown Lady’  taken in 1936 at Raynham Hall in Norfolk, is the apparent spirit  of Lady Townshend. Who it is recorded was never allowed to leave the house by her overbareing husband Lord Charles Townshend.

Spirit photography regardless of how it is done will always under scrutiny, if it is not the photograph itself – it is aimed at who took it, the photographer, how, when, why did you take “x” shot, what do they seek to gain from it? Can it be recreated? Does it prove the afterlife exists? No. Does it give that glimmer? Playing devils advocate here, yes. The glimmer is shining, it is now a matter of discovering what it is, that is being illuminated.

UFO recorded over Oregon last night. Quality footage too

(filmed & copyright by whotookmymojo)

A UFO flyover returning & moving along a similar flight path left to right through the valley. The array of lights towards the front of the craft seem to morph shape.

Whilst it’s not close to us and we can’t examine the footage ourselves – its certainly one of the more interesting videos in quite some time in the field of UFO footage. This video shot last night over Oregon shows what appears to be a craft over time changing shape whilst moving, which is a regularly reported. But the footage whilst handheld following the object, is good quality a decent original resolution.

We’ve asked the original uploader for details regarding the type of camera and the likes of the time this was observed.

The uploader clearly has an interest in UFOs and many of the videos on his/her channel are UFO related recorded from over the last 7 months. Oregon maybe a hotspot? Let us know your thoughts

Scientific study confirms that near death experiences (NDEs) are caused by REM sleep.

18 OOBE Research Center volunteers were able to reproduce every detail of the out-of-body flight towards the light at the end of the tunnel described in reports of near-death experiences(NDE) at clinical death.

Study Objectives were to prove the implication of REM sleep in the occurrence of “near-death experiences” at clinical death by artificially reproducing near-death experiences during REM sleep.

In late January, OOBE Research Center specialists instructed four groups of volunteers in special procedures to perform during night and morning awakenings. Eighteen subjects consequently succeeded in artificially reproducing the exit from the body and flight through the tunnel towards the light experienced at clinical death. The experiment aimed to investigate the nature of near-death experiences.

This is the full method and experiment – http://research.obe4u.com/nde-simulating-experiment/

A comparative analysis demonstrated that the 18 experiment outcomes were fully consistent with a database of 2,900 actual near-death experiences. The experiment made use of the brief transitional state upon awakening that occurs when the mind has already woken up, but the body is still asleep. This state mimics that of the anesthesia-induced narcosis that the majority of near-death experiences occur in.

Head researcher Michael Raduga explained, “Our experiment finally makes it possible to re-evaluate the findings of near-death experience researchers like Dr. Raymond Moody. For the first time, we can not only collect and analyze near-death experiences, but also deliberately reproduce them. This achievement casts doubt on earlier theories regarding the nature of this phenomenon.”

In a similar manner, in 2011 the OOBE Research Center artificially reproduced the experience of alien abduction and several biblical miracles that had taken place in subwaking states. The Research Center was founded by Michael Raduga in 2007 to study the phenomena of out-of-body experience and conscious, or “lucid”, dreaming.

Did a UFO crash in Hucknall in November 1987?

The alledged crash took place on the date of November 12th 1987, whilst most people were asleep in bed. The silence of the night was shattered in the early hours after a thunderball tore through homes in Kirkby in Ashfield. Freak weather was blamed at the time, but since the event multiple witnesses have come forward. Certainly something highly sensitive and inexplicable happened that night. Windows of 13 houses were blown out, chimney stacks fell from roofs, severe damage to buildings due to an airborne collision were reported.

First hand reports of military activity in the area of the A60 known as Thieves wood, closing off of roads, implementation of armed guards, systematic questioning of locals. People were stopped in their cars, by a road block near Annesley and told they could go no further as a helicopter had come down in the local woods. Other witnesses had snippets of information an object of intense light was trying to avoid built up areas and was veering south towards the Hucknall airfield.

A regular bus driver of the A60 route at the time recalls the time very well. Dominic Beglin of the East Midlands UFO Research association held a public talk and discussion regarding the UFO Crash in 1997, in Basford. Mr Beglin quoted an Ashfield district councillor “God only knows how no one was killed, it was like the blitz” during his talk. Witnesses at the time said the ball of light didn’t travel in a straight line witnesses claim to have seen in dive down and up again distinctly over the hills and lay of the land. Thieves wood has a number of tales of its own.

Reports of ghosts, apparitions, strange sensations… well this as you can imagine can only add to the list going on there and adding to the local lore.

Engima talk

Evening went very well, the goal of generating a lot of discussion across a wide spectrum was certainly realized.
Videos of Carnac, Mohenjo Daro and Darinkuju.

Psychical experiments of remote viewing and telepathic projection had interesting results.

Conducted a double blind telepathic experiment where 2 participants faced a non descript wall clear in mind to receive symbols from a zener card set, while the other attendees in the room focused on sending the symbol to only one of them. Of which the recievers didnt know, who was the “directed at” reciever.
Went through 3 randomly chosen cards.

Second experiment was remote viewing, where a sealed box with a object within was placed in an adjacent room. A guided mental exercise to go to the box and to “go inside” discover what the object is. Then come back to thr body and then describe what they saw. Yielded some interesting results!
With an agreement to get together to try some more at later date.
